A page of useful links to resorts and hotels away from
Male’ International Airport and resources has been
included opposite so as to provide with additional information
that may assist you in the search / make your stay in the
Maldives more enjoyable.
Seaplane
Some resorts that are far away only have SEAPLANE as the only
choice for the mode of transport, for the plane you have to
pay a little extra. But, the "little extra" is well
worth it. The Maldives are such a lovely sight from the sky.
The Atolls look like pearls on a string from the sky. From
the boats you can only see islands in every direction, but
not how they are connected.
Since the machines are very noisy, you are given ear plugs
before you board. Keep them with you for your flight back!
The home point is on the island where also the Airport
of Maldives is located. They do have a waiting hall, where
you have to give up your luggage. On a flat screen you can
see which planes to what island are going next.
Starting and landing the machines do on the water. On some
islands they do not let you out at the jetty (maybe because
the water is too low there), but on a float on the sea.
There you are being met with a Dhoni that brings you to
the island.
Night transfers
There are no night transfers available to most resorts far
from Male’ or the airport. No transfers are available
to resorts in Ari and other atolls at night, excluding Seenu,
Haa Alifu, Haa Dhaalu Atolls and Kahdhoo, which recently started
operating Local Domestic Flights in between Atolls. All other
Guests arriving / departing on evening flights will have to
stay a night in one of the hotels in Male’ or at the
airport hotel.
The capital Male’ is approximately 10 minutes by
boat from the airport island and we will help arrange a
stay at a hotel there if necessary.
